EDITOR, The District of Squamish has released a report (Core Service Review, or CSR) summarizing several functional issues within its planning department.

Ever since I saw clinical psychologist Shafali Tsabary's TedTalk on what she calls "conscious parenting," I've been intrigued to learn more about this woman and her philosophies.

Thank you, it's great to be back. Now let's get to work. Right off the bat, I must say how optimistic I am about this council. Sure, you have to be, but there is potential in this dynamic bunch with great passion, energy and ideas.

Squamish's new council laid out its "strategic priorities" this week, and the litany includes many of the issues that were front-and-centre during last November's municipal election campaign.

Spring must be just around the corner as this weekend, Daylight Saving Time begins. That's when we all turn our clocks, watches etc. one hour ahead before retiring on Saturday (March 9).

EDITOR, The government is proposing to appoint a mediator to find a settlement to the teachers' dispute.

EDITOR, I want to write to you and tell you the kind of community we live in. I was diagnosed in 2010 with cancer. Since then I have only found love and compassion from the people of Squamish.

Following the media reports, one might be excused for believing that the youth in the province are being held hostage by a group of radical extremists bent on overtaking the government and undermining the very fundamentals of democracy. B.C.
