I read with some concern (The Squamish Chief, Thursday, March 1st, 2018) the motion proposed by Coun.

I’d like to thank The Chief for contacting me in Korea for an interview, and the piece that came from it titled “Squamish Coach Behind Olympic Gold Win” the other week. However, more needs to be said.

With our Official Community Plan (OCP) coming forward shortly for final approval, and much of our land having applications for residential development imminent, no doubt many in Squamish have put some thought into what our future holds.

The bean counters at ICBC headquarters are still in shock after getting saddled with $1.3 billion in red ink. These days their focus is on strategies designed to avoid a similar fiscal debacle in the future.

I just recently talked with a friend who said, “Objective? Are we still pretending that journalism can be objective?” This is a sentiment that I’ve been running into more and more as time has gone on.

I am writing this in regards to all of the garbage that is left at Sigurd Island and Crooked Falls Hiking trail area in the upper Squamish Valley. This is an issue that not many people know about.

Squamish needs more full-time paramedics and emergency service resources — stat. We are long overdue for this investment.
