There was a time when life in this valley was similar to a casual excursion down a tranquil river in the middle of summer.

The 90-day dress challenge is over. As of Wednesday, the black dress I began wearing three months ago was folded on a shelf and placed in my closet for posterity. In one way, I will miss it.

Re: “School district faces $633,000 shortfall” (May 19). It is nearing time for all of us to decide to keep or lose something understood globally as critical to democracy: public education.

Around Squamish, many stellar employees are figuring out how to manage following tiny pay increases of one or two per cent, including, most recently, District of Squamish employees, who are receiving only 1.

We would like to strongly oppose the Third Avenue option for Squamish’s downtown trucking route. This proposed corridor would have severe impacts to our many seniors living near Third and Pemberton avenues. Safety is our number one area of concern.

I read with interest the budget shortfall in the school board budget (“School district faces $633,000 shortfall,” May 19). I have always thought the students are #1, teachers are #2 and administration is #21.

I would like to share with the public past conversations I have had with our MLA, Jordan Sturdy. I would welcome any Sea to Sky Highway upgrades through the town of Lions Bay.
