I grew up in Squamish and have recently returned after living abroad for 12 years. I work in digital marketing and my mother works as a realtor.

Your cartoonist can be witty and cruel. Last week, she was both, regarding LNG, salmon habitat and her regular target, our premier.

In 2013, Woodfibre LNG (WLNG) received permission from the National Energy Board to export 2.1 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas from Canada annually.

Last summer I spent some time in Princeton, B.C., an unassuming yet somewhat rough-around-the-edges town of less than 3,000. Driving down the main street, it would have been impossible to miss the freshly painted rainbow crosswalk.

We have a strange relationship with the arts, often pretending they are unimportant or irrelevant when in fact we are consumed by them. The stories and inspiration they provide are often what gives our lives meaning and hope.

Re: “Bylaw in works to ban garburators in Squamish,” Jan. 21. With the proposed ban of garburators, Squamish is embarking down a very slippery slope.

I remember being blown away by the Revelstoke street banners a number of years ago. They were quirky, colourful, whimsical and each one was different. No contest.

I hope those against liquefied natural gas (LNG) do not own cars or anything else that uses carbon-based fuel. It would seem to be quite hypocritical to oppose something you use every day.
