Editor's note: This is a copy of a letter to Squamish's mayor and council. It was forwarded to The Chief for publication. Thank you for responding to my concerns about pollution, both visual and olfactory, in the Mamquam Blind Channel area.

A few weeks ago, the Howe Sound Women's Centre Society called on the provincial government to address a crisis at Pearl's Place Transition House in Squamish. This safe house is the sole long-term shelter in the Sea to Sky for women and children.

The annual St. John's Anglican Church Christmas Bazaar is this Saturday (Nov. 16) from 10 a.m. to noon at 1930 Diamond Rd.

EDITOR, Re. "'Passionate' Baumann remembered fondly," Chief, Nov. 7. Advocacy was one of the professional characteristics of Frank Baumann. In this regard, Frank had been specifically advocating to council for groundwater development in Squamish.

EDITOR, Re. "Sellout in progress," Editorial, Chief, Nov. 7. Thanks very much for your editorial environmental view on Enbridge Northern Gateway (ENG).

By most accounts, Squamish council's 2013 budgeting process was a fiasco from which no one - save, perhaps, municipal staff - emerged happy.

While at the Brackendale Art Gallery Saturday night, a friend who hadn't been around Squamish for a few months and whom I hadn't seen for a while started talking about the "incredible energy" that's virtually palpable in Squamish at the moment.

It is widely known that having a pet is good for your health. A pet improves your quality of life, helps you live long and contributes to both mental and physical health.

EDITOR, This letter is in regard to the Douglas Trail Road (Highline Road and Anderson Lake Road No. 23). The issue on the table at this point is not maintenance but rather safety.
