My stars, what an incredible editorial you wrote! (“A show of fear at council,” Jan. 8.) Thank you so much, forsooth! Thank the stars too, that we have a brilliant mind like you. I appreciate your honest reporting and bravery to publish the truth.

I’m responding to Wolfgang Richter’s letter from the Jan. 8 paper regarding the Garibaldi at Squamish (GAS) project. Thank you for waking up the fight against this GAS-eous project again. After extensive reading on the B.C.

I watched the last council meeting with the Fortis application for test hole drilling in the estuary. It has become painfully obvious we are a society run by technocrats and bureaucrats. Lip service is given to the people, but really, we have no say.

Deputy Premier Rich Coleman says that he hasn’t heard a lot from the Squamish community regarding the Woodfibre LNG proposal. One can only wonder if it was because he sneaked in and out of our town without letting anyone know.

For the second time in three months, District of Squamish council has decided to not make a decision. Council again used deferral to not grant the development permit application to FortisBC to conduct geotechnical testing in the estuary.

Sometimes, it’s not what is said or asked, rather who is there that matters.

As we start the new year, it’s time to offer the members of our recently minted council some hot tips about navigating the turbulent local political seas.

I am not from Squamish, I am a transplant to Squamish as my partner is from Squamish, and so when the time came, I made the move.

I am quite upset with remarks in John French’s column, “News story predictions for 2015” (Dec. 31), regarding me and Garibaldi Springs. He seemed to imply that I regularly apply for approvals at Garibaldi Springs and that I regularly get turned down.
