Negative transit experience

Editor, Like so many others, I am smitten by the Olympic spirit and am looking forward to the next month of athletics and related events.

Creating a healthy relationship

On Valentine's Day our culture celebrates romantic love. But how much do you feel like celebrating if your relationship isn't working? If that is so, Valentine's Day may underline your unhappiness so that you become more determined to leave.

Editorial: Over-secure

What's the hottest car colour on the Sea to Sky Highway in 2010? White and blue, of course, thanks to a visible confluence of Olympic SUVs and sedans on our roads.

I remember Vancouver's bid to host the 2010 Olympics, and have to admit I wasn't exactly on the bandwagon.

Get your Games game on

Along with everyone else, I want to take the opportunity to say "Go Canada" as the Vancouver-Whistler Olympic Games begin today with the opening ceremonies at B.C. Place Stadium.

Now that they're here, let the Games begin

The 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal are possibly best remembered for Mayor Jean Drapeau's assertion that the Olympics "can no more have a deficit than a man can have a baby.

Hire me, SODC

Editor, It has come to my attention that the most recent CEO hired by our Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation has resigned. Obviously, he lacked vision and passion, or he would have had the commitment to follow through.

It's time to lighten up

Whether your heart is glowing proudly or your stomach is churning bitterly, the Olympics are finally here. It's time to lighten up.

EDITORIAL: Speed bumps

"No battle plan survives contact with the enemy" is an old military maxim -and given the increased military presence in the Sea to Sky Corridor in the lead-up to the Olympics, it seems appropriate to use it here.
