EDITOR, I don't mean to be critical toward Greg Gardner's achievements as mayor.

"What's in a pebble?" Vancouver-based Northern Dynasty Minerals would say, "$300 billion," the estimated value of the recoverable metals contained in the Pebble Mine, a copper, gold and molybdenum deposit in the Bristol Bay region of Alaska.

EDITOR, Re: "Building a quiet oasis," (Chief, Aug. 26) by Rebecca Aldous. A quiet oasis of prayerful nuns is needed and most welcome. It is no accident that they are here in our midst.

In one sense, Christy Clark is probably correct in her assertion that British Columbians don't want an election this fall.

As it is back to school day for students on Tuesday (Sept. 6), motorists are reminded of the speed limit in school areas. They may not admit it, but I think most children are happy to be going back to school.

EDITOR, On July 21, 2010, we lost our beloved chocolate lab, Murphy, to cancer. This year, on July 21, we placed a memorial at Nexen Beach in the form of a geocache (www.geocaching.com).

EDITOR, Thank goodness in Squamish we have the Squamish CAN group doing so many things for us and pushing our community towards a lower environmental footprint, and thank goodness here in B.C.

Despite the August break from council meetings, the District of Squamish continues to process work at a torrid pace. A recent example is last week's launch of our new Geographic Information System ("GIS") which was completed internally.

At the risk of offending some of our more sensitive readers, besmirching my good reputation and making my mom rather ashamed - I'll admit I've committed acts of vandalism. Many of us have, I think, in our youth.
