Last Saturday might not have brought the best hike of my life, as my friend and I stumbled upon a guy who collapsed while climbing Al’s Habrich Trail.

In regards of spending (wasting) taxpayers’ money on painting trees blue: We could save some money by buying some tar and feathers instead and apply it to the fiscally incompetent people on council.

While I have great respect for Chief editor Christine Endicott, I take issue with her editorial “Outcry about blue trees ignored” (Oct. 22). There is not doubt the Blue Trees installation has caused a kerfuffle in town.

When I first moved to Squamish and started to get to know the community better, I was a little awed and amazed by the incredible spirit of volunteerism that kept everything going.

It’s one of the most positive changes in Squamish this year, but it happens mostly behind the closed doors of our homes and gets little fanfare. We should be celebrating its success.

By the time you read this, Canadians will have chosen a new government of some type.

I feel so frustrated at all I’ve seen and all I’ve read regarding the Vancouver Bienniale that Squamish, I think, unwisely agreed to participate in. Firstly, I fail to see how Squamish benefitted at all from this process.

The shabby attempt to mislead readers by using The Squamish Chief masthead to colour a Liberal Party ad as news and editorial comment on the front page of the Oct. 15 Chief was disgusting.

We can bring real change with strategic voting. There is nothing wrong with strategic voting. It is a politically savvy choice, especially in a battleground riding like ours. An Oct. 14 letter to the editor argues against strategic voting.

In regards to the article, “Squamish Chief, Vote 2015: Is LNG right for Squamish” (Oct. 8), it’s important to know that should our project go ahead, Woodfibre LNG will bring responsible economic growth to Squamish and the region.
