With just over one month go to until the May 14 provincial election, the West Vancouver-Sea to Sky riding has a grand total of two declared candidates. The crickets can be heard chirping from Pemberton all the way down to West Vancouver.

This week's tragedy in Boston is clearly an act of terror - just look at the materials used to make the bombs - but there's something eerily disturbing and different about this attack on a major American city.

So here we are, halfway through our term. It is my second Council Corner and I feel like I must discuss the budget. There are costs that are out of our control, such as aging infrastructure and RCMP costs. Add to that a few things that we want/need.

As we headed back to school on Tuesday after a two-week-long spring break, I really felt the importance of the seasons, our connection to the Earth and the rhythm our family has established in the past few years.
